Grasses are one of the oldest and hardiest plant families on earth, whose nourishment depends on a highly interconnected network or “community” of roots.  We chose the name grassroots not only for it’s progressive connotation, but also as a metaphor for a deep, adaptive, hardy kind of power, for the vitality that emerges within all of us when we connect to and nourish each other as a community.  It also alludes to the earthy simplicity of this medicine as we aspire to practice it.  We endeavor to place more power and responsibility in the hands of our patients, while providing an atmosphere of grounded support.  We recognize that, while illness and injury are inevitable in life, the potential for healing resides in everyone.
